His first content consisted of videos and Let's Plays estimating the wealth other YouTubers. He went viral in 2017 thanks to his "Counting to 100,000", video that received thousands of hits in just two days. Donaldson has hired a lot of his childhood friends as his assistants for his expanding channel. MrBeast the main YouTube channel of Donaldson, a channel with over 100 million users, was established in 2022.
